In the Spotlight: Manuel Santelices

In the Spotlight: Manuel Santelices

For our latest collection, we partnered with talented Chilean artist, Manuel Santelices, who’s dreamy illustrations have been featured in top publications like Town & Country and Vogue. Manuel’s intricate details and precision first caught Silvia’s eye on Instagram, followed by a later exhibition of his work in Miami where both creatives met and immediately hit it off.

Our Resort 2022 collection was partly influenced by watercolors, inspiring undulating patterns and floral prints, as well as fluid silhouettes and the inherent ease in the art form, so we asked Manuel to create several pieces for us, resulting in a lovely interpretation of the overall aesthetic.

Manuel Santelices is a Chilean journalist and illustrator living and working between New York City, Rhinebeck NY and Santiago, Chile. The worlds of fashion, society and pop culture are explored through his illustrations. After nearly 30 years writing stories about style, design, art, society and politics for a number of magazines, including COSAS magazine, the Spanish editions of Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Esquire, and being a fashion writer in New York for Vogue Mexico and Latin American for 7 years, Manuel decided to focus his attention on illustration in 2016, painting mostly with watercolors the same characters and events he covered as a journalist.

In 2017 he published a first book of illustrations, “Drawing the Line” (LAK Editores, Chile) for the Latin American market, and has had solo exhibits in Chile and the U.S. His work has been published in Town & Country, Modern Luxury publications, House Beautiful, Telva (Spain), CASAS Magazine, Mas Deco, Estilo y Decoracion and other Interior Design and Architecture publications.

His great eye and savoir-faire go beyond capturing fashion and further delve into the world of interiors and architecture where they all blend in a seamless and glamorous manner.

Our partnership has continued to flourish—here is another collaboration for a recent event held at Bergdorf Goodman hosted by Linda Fargo.
