Fall Styling Notes

Stepping into a new season is always exhilarating and it usually comes with a lot of chatter on trends. Although timeless design is at the core of the Silvia Tcherassi universe, every piece is nonetheless created with a modern-day woman at the forefront. As many lean into the notion of quiet luxury and opt for garments with staying power, we asked our Director-of-Ready-to-Wear, Sofia Espinosa Tcherassi–someone who has mastered the art of incorporating novelty and unexpected pieces into a classically feminine aesthetic– what her top three trends for autumn were.

Tailored Essentials

“I’ve always thought that an impeccable, well-structured suit goes beyond the boardroom and the office–especially those that have a special twist to them and feel fresh. This season, we are seeing a lot of coordinating blazers and pants, and I have to say, I really love that they are being embraced outside of a work environment. I adore the soft tailoring over hammered satin we showcased for Fall 2023–the billowing sleeves on the Coco blazer are a favorite. I also love the structured jacquard pieces with built-in belts as they instantly polish and look good on absolutely anyone.”

Avant-garde Florals

“Regardless if it’s Fall or Resort, flowers and other botanical motifs always manage to seep into our designs and this collection was no exception. A well-executed floral is timeless and immediately catches the eye. I love to wear them both for day and night, as they tend to give the wearer that versatility. This season we gave them a little bit more of an edge or futuristic touch. The overall effect feels very modern to me. I recently wore this great little number on a night out in New York and can’t wait to wear it again.”

Notes of Romanticism

“When I think of how our pieces make me feel, the words femininity and refinement instantly come to mind and this new wave of romanticism that we saw on the runway evokes that same idea. Some of my favorite pieces from Fall 2023 achieve this same effect. I especially love the movement and glam factor in our fringe halter dresses. Lace is also a big purveyor of this feminine kind of elegance and a material we constantly revisit. The sheer Tosca blouse or the Marguerite mini feel very of the moment and I can’t wait to wear them.”
