Styling Notes 005

“2023 has been a great year for me–both personally and professionally. To close this year, I planned a quick getaway to my beloved Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, a place that checks everything off the list of leisurely things that I want to experience as the year comes to an end: A warm and welcoming atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind, but also a fun destination with no shortage of fun and vibrant activities.”

“On my packing list? Our signature cotton poplin shirts are made for these kinds of getaways–sometimes I even wear them as cover-ups. Another thing I packed is the gold hook-and-rope jewelry from Resort 2023–I find that these are the easiest way to elevate a look: I recently wore this one for drinks at a balcony overlooking one of the plazas and the next day, over a sleek one-piece suit in the nearby islands. I also included an easy-to-pack midi dress, I especially love the multicolored print on this one.”

A person wearing sunglasses, a white blouse, and a long ombre skirt walks down a quiet street with colorful buildings.

“Also on my list is sunscreen by Sisley, I love their Sunleya line and my wrap-around leather sandals custom made in Capri. I also have my copy of Harry Potter which I am rereading and I find is the perfect light beach read.”

“Cartagena always presents a handful of great new hotspots, but I tend to gravitate towards my true and tested favorites. I love to frequent the iconic La Vitrola restaurant for dinner as well as the Santa Teresa Hotel for drinks which is conveniently close to our boutique–this particular shop is one of my favorites, as I love the vaulted ceilings and the inherent Caribbean charm there. A day trip to nearby Barú is always a good idea, there is nothing more calming than turquoise waters and white sand beaches.”
