Styling Notes 009

During summertime achieving a fresh, easy, yet polished look is essential. For this edition of Styling Notes, we tagged along our Director of Ready-to-Wear’s quick Los Angeles jaunt to explore casual dressing during busy days in hot temperatures.

A woman wearing sunglasses and a colorful patterned dress stands in front of a closed blue shutter door, holding a small handbag.

“This print has been on rotation all summer long–it’s a favorite of my mothers’ and mine. There is something optimistic about it and it felt perfect for a long lunch at the Sunset Tower Hotel. As those close to me know, I am always attracted to contrasts and the cap sleeve and a-line silhouette that are decidedly ladylike contrast beautifully with the exposed sides and back.”

A woman stands on a terrace, wearing a striped shirt, white skirt, black belt, and sunglasses. There are green shrubs and a building in the background.

“I am always looking into ways of wearing classic combinations–such as blue and white– in novel and unexpected ways. This perforated pencil skirt feels romantic, but also very put-together. The black belt was for definition and the flip flops made the whole look feel less serious and more summery. ”

A woman in a sleeveless dress and sunglasses walks on a street, holding a brown handbag. Buildings and palm trees are in the background.

“This set from Pre-Fall 2024 also showcases one of my favorite prints and the 3D floral details on the bodice take it to another level. Separates are one of my go-to and not only in the summer but year-round too. That day, I ended up wearing a light cashmere cardigan over it when the night cooled.”
