In The Spotlight: Divya Mathur

As we close the year, we talk with industry insider and great friend of the brand, Divya Mathur. A native Californian with over 18 years in New York City, she has held major roles in some of fashion’s top retail posts like Saks, Intermix and Shopbop. We talk to the bright personality about traveling in style, upcoming plans for the new year and more.

How did you first become acquainted with Silvia Tcherassi?

One of the best parts of my job is getting to work with incredible designers from all parts of the world. Silvia Tcherassi is one of those fantastic brands.

As someone who is always on-the-go, how do manage to stay stylish while traveling?

I meticulously plan every single outfit for each day, down to my bag, shoes, and jewelry! It’s time consuming, but it’s the only way I don’t end up packing the entire contents of my closet. Once I’m there, it takes the guess work out of outfits and leaves more time to enjoy the trip.

Tell us a little about the pieces you picked and where you would wear them to

Silvia’s coordinating sets always make getting dressed a breeze (a must when you are the mother of 2 young boys), while still looking pulled together. This printed set is equally chic as separates, and I love wearing the pants with an oversized ivory sweater or the top with a pair of denim shorts for a more casual look. When it comes to event dressing, these gowns are the perfect “guest of” dress with their vibrant colors. I actually paired the blue and white gown with a plaid blazer as a way to transition an otherwise summery dress into the cooler Fall months.

What are you looking forward to the most this 2023? Any exciting projects?

2023 for me is going to be all about balance. Finding time to do the things that make me happy (spending time with my children and husband, playing the piano, and attempting to re-learn French), while continuing to pursue my professional aspirations.
